KANSAS CITY – Junior livestock judging teams gathered to compete at the American Royal Livestock Judging Contest. Participants represented 25 colleges from across the country.

The contest is open to one team per junior college and consists of five members per team. All scores contribute toward the overall team score. Contestants judged 12 classes of livestock, containing four animals each. Classes included both breeding and market animals in beef, sheep/goat and swine divisions. Then, the contestants appeared before the judges to present eight sets of oral reasons.
